HI Jbf,
Thank you for the comments and taking the time to look.
I'm a sucker for that tri-x 400 look and the grain, and I try to make them look like film as much as possible. But it's not easy, as you have to get the light right so the midtones stand out correctly, or there is a quite a bit of work involved in PP.
The boy - my 4 year old, has learnt not to give into the camera, and makes it diffocult everytme I want to take his pic. Coupled with a OM 50 1.8 on a gf1, manual focusing doesn't help as well - but I love the challenge, and the pleasing results.
The right amount and size of grain in the midtones should get you that look.
If you let Silefx pro do it you will find it defaults to a S curve with very dark shadows and mid - the trick is to raise just the right amount to acheive the look - only your eye will tell you when you've got it.
The secuirty guard is great. I went in with my gf1 and my om10, and was using both. on the same shot. I still have to send the film to develop and see how good / bad they came out.
Black & white has really taken me over lately, so much so I'm itching for a Leica Monochrome - but have to win the lottery first.
The architecture at the museum is amazing and the clouds were in just the right place so I could get them in as well. They do add to the pic, and I quite like the way they turned out.
