Yes. It has a Sonnet Crescendo 1.6Ghz speed-up chip. Hard to believe that it is a 1999 model and keeps up with the pack. I'm a recycled Ham Radio Operator and so I love the ability to open the trap door on the case and simply add or take out components in a minute. Ever heard the name Heath Kit? That mentality from the 1950s.

I think I mentioned that I installed ($29) an eSata external port PCI card. For my 1Tb backup drive. The thing with eSata (or USB 3) is the ability of the connection to outpace the I/O speed of the drive -- due to the 1200 rpm specs.

When I get the new iMac, I will miss that DIY flexibility.
