The 7-14mm is optically superior in pretty much all measurements and a little faster.
But, it can't take filters which is a shame because ultra-wides lend themselves well to the application of ND filters and polarisers.
The 9-18mm is smaller, lighter, and cheaper. It also covers a much more useful focal range and acts as my primary walk-around lens. If I had the 7-14mm, it would only come out for special uses.
