I'm a big fan of watching my grass grow, so here's a shot from the venerable 17-35 2.8 AFS earlier in the year, which is no less sharp than anything else you can get

Bear in mind all of these will have some field curvature, though somewhat minimized at f8, it is still there a bit. Hand held, these are by no means scientific tests. The amount of dog remnants might also be different in the shots, so please don't allow that to ruin your analysis
