Am I the only one who doesn't like the OMD grip?
Jun 28, 2012

OM-D grip arrived today, and my first thoughts upon putting in on the camera is that it is uncomfortable and partially defeats the purpose of m4/3--

I am a little surprised, and Ive had grips either attached, or integral to every SLR Ive used for the last 20 years, Nikon "F" and "D2/3/800" series, and almost never removed them.

With the OM-D, the grip feels as if it dwarfs the camera and is awkward-- again, Im completely surprised after reading so many favorable comments. I love the use of secondary/duplicate controls for portrait orientation usually, and that is about the only significant plus (for me) with this grip.

Perhaps it is because Ive been using the OM-D for a couple months without the grip, and have developed muscular memory for operation. Or, because it isnt my primary system, and I have in my head, over and over "smaller and lighter"...

Anyone else run into this?
