Looking at your gallery, I'd say you wouldn't gain much by switching, unless you wanted to start photographing people and action.
I am skating on roller blades but i never took my G12 with me because we skate at night, and it's quite bad at high ISO. But a DSLR will probably be too bulky\heavy for this anyway.
