I've had a sigma 10-20 since around 2005 and generally love it. Its great for dramatic landscapes and environmental portraits. The real advantage of it is when you want to highlight some part of a scene without loosing the rest of the environment.

It works well for people too as long as you keep them centered in the frame and don't go too close to their face.

I use the lens for about 10% of my photography over all, and use the 10mm focal length about half the time I use the lens. I could probably get by with my 17-55 and a 10mm prime.
