OM-D + 12-50 Prints Big
Jun 27, 2012

I like big prints. My usual print size from a Canon 5DII was 20" X 30" printed on a Canon iPF 6300 wide format inkjet. So how will images from a lilliputian OM-D and humble kit lens stand up to a huge full frame DSLR? Awfully darn well, based on my first couple of prints.

I shot the images in RAW and processed in ACR. I then applied my usual sharpening routine. I always let the printer driver do the uprezzing, since i've never found any software that does a better job. Since there is a format difference, I decided to print 28" X 21", about the same area as my usual print size.

I'm very satisfied with the sharpness of the prints I made. When I ordered the OM-D I figured I'd probably have to upgrade to the pricey 14-35 F/2.8 to get the quality to print as large as I do. Now I'm not so sure.

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
