Waterbirds with D300s (3 imgs)
Jun 26, 2012

A few from yesterday. The first two are an American Coot (with chicks), The Coots are very common here, but I'd never noticed the chicks with the orange and red coloring. The third is a double-crested cormorant.

All shot with D300s, Nikon 300mm (f/4), handheld. Shot these immediately after shooting some BIFs, without remembering to adjust settings, so all were shot at 1/2000 sec. I think the output is fine, but normally these would have shot between 1/320 - 1/800 sec. With a monopod I may have gone down to 1/200 or so.

Comments welcome.
