I started by adjusting the levels a little darker and upped the vibrance and saturation a bit. Then I opened it up in NX2 and lightened some darker areas and darkened snf adjusted the blue level of the sky, and the red in the setting sun. The last thing I did was straighten the horizon a little.

I attempted adjustments using levels, but I suspect you might be adjusting individual color channels.

This is the keeper - much appreciated.

Thank you Nick and you are very welcome. My version of Adobe is CS6 which I just upgraded to a few weeks ago.
