Canon DPP is actually very easy to use. In some ways I find it easier than Lightroom. In DPP you are just working with the actual RAW files, in the folders they are stored on the computer. Programs like Lightroom, create virtual collections that have no relation to how the files are actually stored.

is the post production sw hard to use ? To give you some idea of my competance, photoshop is too hard for me to use (I use simple sw like irfan , for example, as PS seemed to hard for me w/ all the layers etc.). so if the PP sw is anything like PS, then this might be a reason not to shoot RAW.
