Macbook Pro Retina 2.3 or 2.6

Ill try to keep this short. I'm a photography student looking to buy my first mac. I'd like to buy the new retina display macbook pro, with a 16gb ram upgrade. My question is what processor would be good for me to get. This will primarily be my main laptop, ill be using it for school work and leisure as well as photoshop and most likely other editing software. Is the baseline retina pro going to be sufficient enough, or do i need to upgrade to the 2.6 for the most optimal performance?

ETA: I've also considered getting a higher end regular Macbook Pro that will come with a 2.6 processor, 750gb storage, but only has 8gb of ram. This'll cost about the same as the base model of the retina macbook pro. Any thoughts?
