Vintage Flash Compatibility

In a post by Gisle earlier in this thread, he linked this self-written article listing some optical triggers that can't handle the high voltage:

And some of those reviews and comments on Amazon talked about frying radio triggers and hot shoes even with the added precaution of the SM-512.

I'd rather play it safe and not risk wasting money.
