CF for D300

I just bought a manufacturer refurbished D300 from Keh . Upon waiting for the camera to arrived ( I'm excited with my new toy ) I took notice that the D300 does not use the same type of memory cards used by my D7000 , so I'm in the market to buy me a compact memory card . Can someone please direct me to a inexpensive , reasonably fast memory card that might work great in the D300 ?

I use Sandisk extreme III on my d7000 and seems

to work ok , but someone told me that sometimes a card that works ok with one camera , might not work as well with another so I'm asking for recomendations on which to buy . Thank you guys in advance for your answers .
