I have no noise problems if I use the 5DIII in the right way.

Even if I boost the shadows up to 2 stops all is fine (that's why DPP allows 2 stops adjustments).

With LR4 or PS can we boost much more e.g. 5 stops - yes, that will lead to a lot of banding and noise for ALL Canon cameras.

The D800 can handle this much better.

So if anybody needs to push his images a lot - go get a D800.

I like to have a Camera to be able to use my Canon glass - so Nikon is no option for me.

And as I mentioned a lot of times - even if I would have no Canon glass - I would still prefer the 5DIII over the D800 for a lot of reasons.

High DR and low shadow noise is NOT the most important thing when buying a camera.

Is the 5DIII perfect?
No!

Points to improve:
1) Selected AF points not so good visible (Firmware update?)
2) Auto ISO 1/250 min (should be 1/2000) (Firmware update?)
3) Auto ISO 1/focal length (should have a selectable factor) (Firmware update?)

You for forgot the most important deficiency/flaw, noise and banding in shadow area.
No, DPP does not fix it as you've been trying to preach in the past.
