Canon 7D lemon and horrible Canon Customer Service

While there are plenty of great 7D's out there, there is a large pool of them that falls can easily be classified as Lemons. I am the unlucky owner of such a POS and have joined the ranks of those that have been dealing with Canon and the inability to repair the camera and their horrible Customer Service.

The standard operating procedure for anyone experiencing problems with the 7D (maybe other bodes as well) is to give those customers the run around, ignore them, lie to them when needed and to not fix the Camera. There are numerous reports of customers having to send the 7D in again and again (as in up to 5 times) before canon finally (if at all) gave in and then issue a refurb 7D. My plight began in April and continues 2 months later. In one of the first e-mails I sent to their so called highest level of customer Service, I mentioned the fact that it seems that the run around and failure to repair the 7D seems standard for Canon. Ironically, my situation then progressed to follow the very path I wanted to avoid.
Bottom line:
Canon lies.

Canon ignores

Canon can't fix the 7D in many cases but sends it back to customers anyway.

Canon will not admit to anything.(OK, they do admit that my 7D can't focus but can't fix it)

Canon will do nothing to help their customers. (besides free shipping labels to send in your gear again and again and again) At one point I asked for a new 7D or credit towards a 5D Mark III. I wanted to give them money! But they said no and I am glad they did)

It is a long post and my synopses does not do it justice. While I expect no one to read it, it is included for those with current and future problems of the same or similar kind. And maybe, just maybe, it will save someone from ever buying Canon
