When you are using Manual mode, just turn on Auto ISO with a minimum 100 ISO and maximum 6400 ISO set, and you should be fine for most lighting situations. Using a fixed ISO in Manual mode requires knowledge of the principles of exposure, along with some experience with the camera's metering, which you evidently are lacking at this point in time.
