so confused .. using fx lens on dx
Just get the Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX.
It's cheap, sharp, fast and small.
The 35mm f2 FX lens will give the same field of view on DX.
But the DX lens is sharper wide open. And has fast, silent AF-S.
If you want wider, find an "old" 20 or 24mm f2.8. Has old AF motor, but that should not be a problem with the D7000.
But personally, I would prefer the f1.8 from the 35mm lens.
To check if it is wide enough, put a zoom lens on 35mm and look throught the finder.
It's true, it is easier to find (ultra)wide angles on FX.
