When you compose an image, do you think that you will crop?

.. I was reading thread with Art P answering a thread,, and it was suggested maybe take the image wider than you want it, which leaves room for cropping, or the ability to straighten the image without losing edge essential details. I took a photo class back when it was only film,,(many years ago), the instructer would only allow the full image to be presented, without the ability to crop,, that made sense in learning composition when you first see the image,, no turning back,, but what do you do?, ( I asume you have enough sensor space to crop)

The reason I am asking,, I usually compose without much room for crops,, I think that I may need to widen my horizons,, :),
