My Leica M8.2 Doesn't Seem To Like Its New Owner

As stated above there is the write protect tab, if he is sure it is on the off position then it may be the tab sensor on the camera, incorrectly reading its position and marking the card as read only.

I had a similar problem on a different device, unless the tab was in exactly the right position and the card inserted squarely it detected the card as read only.

Also inserting the card too roughly can damage this sensor
