I can't tell whether all 5 axes are involved, but the IBIS certainly works with manual lenses. It is extremely important to set the FL correctly, but then it works great.
So far I've used the 25/0.95 Voigtlander, Leica 75mm Summicron, Leica 90mm Macro Elmar and 280/4 Apo Telyt, with and without 1.4 converter. All have produced great images and have been helped a lot both in shooting and focussing by the IBIS. The 280/4 with 1.4 converter would have been impossible to focus accurately with magnifier if not for the IBIS.
