EM-5 with 50-500 Bigma?
Jun 21, 2012

I have an E-520 with a Bigma (50-500). I am starting to feel the lack of high iso quality with my frequent wildlife photo shoots.

Considering that EM-5 has got great high ISO capabilities, I am wondering if I can use my 50-500 with the EM-5 + mmf-3 adapter? Will I feel a great loss in focus speed (the bigma was in itself not a fast focusser anyway)? Will I lose AF?

Typical shots that I take are perched Birds, sometimes BIF, mammals crossing, running across roads etc. Usual technique with my E-520 + Bigma is to use Bean bag for stability. I almost always shoot with AF, with frequent focus triggers, before a full press, to get it real sharp.

I need to decide whether to continue on the Oly line (which my heart says yes), but want to be certain that I am not "losing" anything if I buy the EM-5.

Experts, please help.
