Organizing new mac, help!

HI, ordered a new MBP Retina displ to take over for my 5 year old MBP. I shall use Super Duper to migrate, I think. Is there any advice as to organizing things before or during migration, putting programfiles one place, imagelibrary, Lightroom catalogues etc another?? (Partition the SSD disk?)
