Some D800 light painting seascapes etc and question
Jun 19, 2012

Just wanted to share a couple pics from this last weekend on the Oregon coast. This camera is opening doors with the ability to have much cleaner results in this kind of shooting. However, I am seeing what looks like colored hot pixels at iso100 when the exposure is long, like in the 5-20 minute range. Using reduce noise in Lightroom doesnt help. It doesnt spoil the images, but I would love any suggestions on how to remove it. I don have a close up crop, but it looks like old dust spots on scanned pictures. (old school)

531s f7.1 iso100- Light added wih a Mag flashlight from various angles.

7 images stitched- 10s f3.5 iso3200

I just played with this one by dropping in a star shot. I'm not sold on it, but it's fun to play and see how it comes out.

Nikon D800
