don't need constant f-number

constant f-number comes from old movie, where you cannot develop film frame by frame for different exposures. this is little problem for digital cameras.

it looks more practical to have something like 24-105/2-4,
but don't expect it be any sharp wide open or even stopped down
when we go beyond 40MPix, btw, I think that

  • 20-40MPix range -- low resolution,

  • 40-80MPix range -- standard-low resolution (video),

  • 80-160MPix range -- standard-high resolution,

  • 160-320MPix -- high resolution,

  • beyound 320MPix and maybe 1GPix -- mad resolution

to me, the new 24-70/2.8L2 sounds a good walk-around lens.
the only issue may be the contrast especially when shooting HDR.
