Why doesn't 60D need MFA like 7D does?

I never use MFA
In reply to Don Richardson, Jun 19, 2012

I currently own a 7D and 5DII and used to own a 50D and have never used MFA on any of my bodies. My lens collection include the 50 1.2L, 50 1.4, 28 1.8, 70-200 f/2.8 IS MKII, 100 2.8L, 16-35L and 24-70L. When I purchase a new lens, I check it for back and front focusing among other things and if I find a problem, I will exchange it or send it to Canon service for calibration. All of my lenses focus perfectly wide open except for the 24-70 which seems to be a little erratic in focusing consistency. Every time I read a thread about MFA, I always wonder why I don't see a need for it.
