You're looking at sample bias. I suspect the people who buy stabilized lenses for Sony are ones who need the stabilization for a different reason (e.g. stabilizing the view in the viewfinder). They both have upsides and downsides -- Sony IBIS works fine turned on when on a tripod. Nikon VR lenses give distinctly worse images on a tripod unless you turn stabilization off.
