sorry to hear of the pickle. i know too well the perils of noise issues, i shoot with a sony slt. this is one of the main reasons im switching brands, i detest being limited by light. nikon has the D7K, canon the 7D, and pentax the K5, or soon to be K30. a local store sells a legacy pentax 70-200 2.8 MF with an attached 2xTC for $89. i wouldnt give this much thought with the k5 but the newer pentax models have focus peeking, which changes everything.

it seems there are a lot of MF older glass that is faster for any given mount, but MF makes them less than ideal. im wondering why canon and nikon dont have focus peeking on their models. a copyright issue? sony is the only other brand i know of with it and im running as fast as i can from them. anybody know if this feature is or will be on the other big names? seems like it would open up a lot of options when we need something faster.
