First DSLR

I am finally taking the step and purchasing a DSLR. Now i just need to decide on what to buy. My family loves to take photos and i travel all over the world for work. I am by no means a pro but would like to have something that will take great pictures and video. I am willing to spend the money for something that is going to last me and my family a long time. I have talked to several friends and the reviews are mixed. I am looking at the Nikon D5100, the Canon T3I and the Sony A57 or 65. Any thoughts? Good and bad would be helpful. Thanks.
