It's all about B&W vs COLOR. Mechanically the R3000 runs circles around the R2000.

As far as the printing goes, it's all about bright goergeous color on the R2000 specially on your glossy and luster / satin papers. Great matte prints as well. Not so good B&W as it will not produce a linear neutral print from the blackest to the lightest tones. They may run from warm to cool or viceversa along the black to white scale. I own both the R2000 and also am running two R1900s in my shop.

The R3000 on the other hand will not produce the super glossy results of the R2000 on glossy papers but it excels at printing on Art papers and in B&W mode. Plus, it is build like a tank.
