I had a similar issue one time and they gave me an RMA over the phone with a lot of apologies. But I've heard of people having trouble at places like Best Buy because they think that you're the one trying to defraud them. I guess that you have to have a bit of luck with the person that you talk to, but hopefully it will work out.
