A77 and auto lens correction details

I know the built in lens correction only applies directly to in-camera jpeg output.

However I've seen posts stating the lens correction information is written to the raw file metadata. Does that mean if I use Sony Image Data Converter it will take that into account?

Also, has IDC gotten any better in terms of jpg quality vs. 2 years ago? I had done a jpg comparison at the time, and both DxO and ACR seemed to capture more detail out of the raw files.
