How to save a screenshot as a jpg

What's the best way to save a screenshot as a jpg please, ideally without having to load additional software?
I am running Windows 7 and have Word, Photoshop and Lightroom.
I'm wanting to Alt-Ctrl-Print Screen and get a JPG so I can include it in a forum post.
If I can include a screen shot in a post without converting to JPG that's a good alternative.
