As I said many times - and got lambasted for saying it - mirrorless lenses will be more expensive than equivalent full-frame lenses, and EVFs are not cheaper than OVFs. Also, they don't sell very many of these cameras compared to SLRs so they have to make up their development costs by charging higher prices on each unit. All this makes for exactly what you've pointed out - an expensive system.

For good quality one would expect 'expensive'. At least there's more than one decent expensive digital system to choose from - not so long ago there was only one option.

The people who pushed this format at first claimed the smaller sensor and lack of an OVF was going to result is dramatically lower prices. Now look what has actually happened. An OM-D kit is $250 more expensive than a similar T4i kit. An OM-D body-only is even $100 more than a 60D body-only. Low unit volume and physics has required this stuff to be more expensive than its competitors, not cheaper as was claimed.
