Re: Otherness and the aesthetic experience

Well I'll start by answering the first point, in my colloquial English to show that I am an outsider

"I live in Massachusetts in the United States. The people in these photographs live in Dubai. That is "other" than where my friends and me ("we") live. I wonder here about the role of that gap in appreciating these photographs and also if there is a similar gap for the photographer. Is the photographer a full fledged member of this community he is photographing or is he, like me, an outsider? "

"Cor blimey guv'nor - who let all the window lickers out?"
