Yes I agree. I have been sitting and waiting for something new after A700
some time. I bought a Panasonic FZ150 just to get HD movie, but I have not
seen the new Sony camera yet that I really want as a A700 upgrade.
I am in no hurry so I guess I will waint even longer to see what the next
camera/sensor "revolution" will be. The Sony NEX cameras are looking nice, but
I would like to see some more small good lenses before I decide to buy into the
system.

I shoot most landscape and wide angel (28mm to 50mm maybe) so the RX100
look to be ok for my need on fishing trips and typical holiday trips etc.

The image quality is ok, even for ISO 1600-3200 if you downsample the
images some. As I has written before here (many times) my MP need
is no more then 2-6 MP so you get good looking images from the RX100
with such an downsampling. At least from the samples I have seen.

Interesting to see the sensor progress from e.g 5 year old Sony A700 12 MP APS-C
to the new Sony RX100 20 MP 1" sensor. But not so easy to tell anything about
the RX100 sensors dynamic range yet. But it got in camera HDR, something even
my Panasonic FZ150 compact don't have.

And my legs and back would for sure love the RX100
