Hey Ted

A 45 or 50mm F1.8 or faster SHG prime for portraits would be nice to go with an E7, although they need to fix the AF first

Hi, Harj! One of the things that I see as a possibility for Oly glass, is ยต43 SHG zooms that get smaller than the 43 SHG zooms by being a stop slower (e.g. f/2.8 instead of f/2). With the faster sensor, we could live with that as long as the IQ remained first-class.

Ted

But going for f/2.8, will lose some of the DOF control those fast f/2.0 zooms did enable.

However, MFT actually starts to deliver prime lenses in various classes, something very rare with the classical FT. Oh well, both routes will exist, so a choice at least.

certainly the qualities of very fast lenses are important here
the softness of the bokeh and sharpness of the focus field
seem to have as great an importance as speed itself

my own Konica 57/1.2 is mostly used at f/2 in such a fashion
