This is true, and I come from the opposite side also, I am studying 3d animation and visual fx, may be that's way I feel that I would be cheating if I take my PP too far. I am able to make images out of nothing, so now that I have a foundation image, I feel like I could make it too digital.

Here are a few Images I have created while practicing 3d they are 100% Digitally created, they are definetly not totally photorealistic just yet since I have been studying it for just about 10 months now, but you get what I mean.

Are these rendered in Mental Ray? What Modeler?
