Re: polarizing filter for pano images ?

You have the filter and you have access to the Med? If so, why ask us - just do it and see for yourself.

The problem is the sky. It is difficult enough not to get uneven sky colours in a pano, let alone exacerbating the problem with a polarising filter. Maximum polarisation occurs at 90 degrees to the position of the sun and then tails off on each side - so it all depends on where the sun is and the total angle of view in your pano. It can be partially ameliorated by skilful post processing.

someone said don't use a polarizing filter. I need to use one because I actually love the mediterranean sea for its clear jewelled colors and I would like to do a pano on this particular subject. The only way I can capture the clarity of the water is to use a circular polarizer so I can I do this and yet stitch a pano please ? Please chime in.
