Any current m4/3 body, a 7-14mm Lumix, and a few primes, and you're set

7-14mm for land/cityscapes
20mm f/1.7 for candids
45mm Lumix Macro for art work/flora/portraits
If you don't need macro then go for the Oly 45 f/1.8.

Add a long zoom if you want to. There are currently no fast constant aperture long zooms.

The Olympus models have in body lens stabilization, Panasonic does not but some of their lenses do. The Panny G3, GX-1 and Oly OM-D have the best high ISO performance - usable ISO 1600-3200, if you're comparing to the D700. The other models, not so hot (ISO 800 looks noisy to me on the GF-1 and E-PL3, with their first generation sensors.)

I started with a Panny GF-1, now have an Oly E-PL3, and am waiting for an OM-D.

I have a D700 with fast glass and it stays home. I can fit a m4/3 body and three lenses in the same space that the D700 and one small prime fits into, and the m4/3 kit weighs far less.
