Some video cards and operating systems allow you to re-orient your screen to the fertile position. If I remember correctly, ATI drivers come set up to support this position and I think that Windows has supported this position as well since windows XP. Mac also has a feature to allow you orient your screen vertically, although I don't know what version this feature was added.
Can some of the more advanced video editing software bundles allow you to change the orientation of your video?
Funny, I just read an article that begs people to not do this very thing when shooting videos on their iPhone. I agree with the writer from Gizmodo that wrote the article that vertically shot videos are obnoxious to look at, but different strokes for different strokes and all that...I would say that if you like the looks of vertical video, there are certainly solutions out there for you.
