Apertrue 3.3 - looks like a big improvement for Oly Users
Jun 12, 2012

Previous versions of Aperture 3 rendered ISO200 OR files quite badly, giving an overly bright default image with colours not at all close to the JPEG (odd really because it did ISO100 ORFs really quite well). 3.3 improves this quite a bit though the default is still a little overly bright.

From a bracketed shot, this one pushed to 0.7 behind the camera (ETTR). After reducing the exposure by 0.7 and using the recover and black point slider, I managed to recover all blown highlights and blocked shadows. Other than boosts for everything on the enhance panel (contrast, definition, saturation and vibrancy), I was happy with the default colours.

The already effective edge detection on the dodge and burn brushes has also been improved a little though the operation of the brushes seems a little strange at first.
