Sparkles

Hello

I have been trying out the new demo of Neat Image Photoshop plugin, a NR software. I was using a 7D image at ISO 640. Default processing in ACR 6.7, no NR

At 100% the image has sparkly noise which seems to remain after NR by Neat Image. Unsharp mask makes it worse. Neat Image demo will only process a small section.

What are these sparkles, some are white, but also in RGB? Are these faulty pixels or just noise?
