NEX7 + LA EA2 + SONY 70-400: some birds

These are a few shots I grabbed at the bird viewing area, at the water treatment plant in Henderson, Nevada. Conditions were just the reverse of yours, Dirk. It was bright sun and very hot. I shot these with my NEX 5n with the Bigma attached. The first shot was with my cell phone, to show the set-up. First bird shot was at around 250mm at 400 iso. The rest were shot at 500mm and 1600 iso. I'm going to go back this fall, when it's cooler, and see if I can do a little better.

Oh, and btw, these were all shot using manual focus and shooting this way front-heavy rig on a monopod. Next time I'm taking my folding chair and tripod and shooting from one of the blinds.
