A77 - Are The Jpeg's Really That Bad?
Jun 10, 2012

Hi All. posted a little while ago as I was considering the A57/A65. Well, after looking at both again I really preferred the A65 - a big plus for me was the Oled EVF. Anyway, just come back from my holiday & now ready to buy but after having a play with an A77 today I feel hooked. I much prefer how it feels etc. so my current plan is to buy the A77 body only and pair it with the 16-80 CZ lens. The 16-50 is tempting but I really want a little more reach so it's an ideal walk around package.

I've read the odd review though stating the jpeg's aren't brilliant from the A77 (also read many that state it's excellent) but really wanted to know what they're like in the 'real world' experience. I know raw with always give better results but want to stick to jpegs as I don't carry out that much post processing.

Are they really that bad generally or do you have to mega pixel peep to see?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
