Hi Brad,

Brad for a misty surrounding the overall details are to sharp and to much clarity in the back for a misty idea, also there is a sun visible in the left upper corner, but there is a lack of x-rays from that sun while there are lots of sun spots on the swamp surface. You could bring in some misty effects as that isn't difficult, but than you probably could cause friction between the sunspots and the lack of sunrays. So if you brought the attention to the centre and take out some slight detail in the back and darken the foreground a bit you got yourself a centre with a slight effect of a misty surrounding. That's my take on your shot, which is without your header a real beautiful image.

Also I took the freedom to create a kind of example according what I wrote before..
