Like you, I've done alternate generation Rebels of the 50 series, and been very happy with them. I came from walking up the D60, 10D, 20D ladder, and originally bought the 350D/Rebel XT as a "bridge". Since then, I've not found a need to go back to XXD for my personal shooting style.

So far, the 550d/t2i has served me very well, and I'm not sure I'm ready for my next jump, or whether that jump will be to the next generation of this series, to the 7D II (or equivalent), or into full-frame. But I like the direction Canon is heading.
