It is certaintly the best selling mirrorless ICL digital camera of all time.

Possibly - that doesn't make it the "greatest" though. It's sold a lot because it is cheap.

"quantity has its own sort of quality".

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure Stalin is the best person to quote from, things didn't end too well for him (thankfully).

It is the longest lived mirrorless camera of all time (except maybe the M9), having outlasted the E-p1/2, E-pl2, GF-1/2/3, G-1/2, NEX-3/5, Samsung whatever models) and is still being sold.

It may be the currently best selling mirrorless camera (not sure about this but if not the top seller it is close).

Still a great camera for use with legacy lenses and the VF-2.

True.

It has the best IQ of all the 12mp sensored cameras.

Not to my eyes. The EPL-1 does have nice IQ at low ISO's but the EP-3 is better. It has a more gradual roll off in terms of mid tones and highlights, better dynamic range in the highlights and produces more pleasing images to my eye and I have both.

The EPL-1 is a great budget camera but I'd take the NEX 5n and EP-3 over it in terms of IQ and ergonomics. The 5n is also much better for using with legacy lenses.

No IBIS, don't want to go there.

The higher ISO performance balances that out so it's six of one half dozen of the other really.

Also, no hot shoe.

It can take a flash and there is now a hotshoe adaptor available. The wireless flash is a nice option on the EPL-1 though.

If you want to shoot legacy glass then that is the camera to get, you can get focus easily without an evf as well.
I'm not knocking the the EPL-1 but it's not as great as you suggest.

I didn't suggest anything.

You don't recall this comment?
"It has the best IQ of all the 12mp sensored cameras."

It is an indisputable, established fact!

well, at least to ISO 1600.

As IQ is a subjective thing you'd have a hard time proving it ;).

it is just me looking at the DPR Compar-o-meter thingy.

I bow to the wondrous compar-o-meter thingy

I asked a question.

True, except for the part I just quoted.

Is it still the king of the hill?

Nope, never was.
