I still use my Minolta 600mm f4 HS G series lens. I am exceptionally happy with it. It is razor sharp and the af works extremely fast. I expect it will outlive me because of the quality of the materials and build quality. I use it for surfing photography. I also have a 300 f2.8 Sony G series lens which I actually use more often than the 600. The 1.4 convertor is fine on the 300 but requires a VERY steady tripod and great light when attached to the 600 mm.. The 2 X convertor is useless on both lenses, forget about getting one. Check out what you can achieve with these lenses at my website, .
