Why can't we just have one thread for all the "got mine" "shipping today" nonsense ?

Subject says it all.
Why does everyone insist on creating a fresh thread to say they've received their order from six months ago today, or they've got an automated email saying theirs is shipping today.
Can't we keep things a little bit tidy and in one place ?
(off to duck and don my flame suit ....
